Militants offer to help Delta fight kidnappers

NIGER- DELTA Liberation Force, NDLF, a militant group in Delta State, weekend, pledged to support Delta State Government in the battle against kidnapping and armed robbery.
The group, founded by a
former militant leader, the late ‘General’ John Togo, which made the offer
in a statement by its spokesperson, Mark Anthony, expressed revulsion at the high rate of kidnapping and armed robbery in the state.
NDLF said it was interested in working with the Delta State Police Command, Joint Task Force, JTF, on the Niger Delta, codenamed, Operation Pulo Shield, and other security agencies to checkmate criminals.
However, concerned citizens view the offer with suspicion, as they see the militants as people of the same hue with kidnappers and armed robbers they want to confront.
The statement said:   “The leadership of Niger Delta Liberation Force, NDLF, condemns the high rate of kidnapping/armed robbery in Delta State and pledges to partner with the Delta Police Command and the Joint Task Force (JTF) to combat the menace.”
