Ways to avoid infecting the eyes



Eyes, mostly referred to as the window of the body, is the easiest to infect.

Long-term infection, when not treated, could lead to other complications, amongst which are, blindness.

There are a number of habits Nigerian men and women do which could lead to
itching.

Exposing the eyes to dust is one of the main ways the eyes could lead to problem.

Using fingers to clean the inside of the eyes is also one of the habits.

People are fond of using their handkerchief as an alternative to rubbing their eyes with hands.

Eyes need to be protected from every harm so it can last till old age. To achieve this, there is the need to protect the eyes from dust, be it on a bike or  a breezy environment.

Individuals should avoid itching the eyes vigorously because this can lead to discharge. Large amount of clean water should be poured on the eyes.

Avoid using hands or handkerchief to rub the interior of the eyes. If that is the only alternative, the hands should be washed thoroughly before it is being used on the eyes.

The alternative is to rub the eyes with the eyelid closed or shake or shake the eyelid gently.

Do not hasten to use eye drops whenever there is itching in the eyes, eye itching could be caused by a number of factors such as a reaction to food, water, soap and dust. The cause of the itching should be known first, then avoid because if eye drops is used, it will only give a temporary relief and will return after a while.

Nutritious and healthy foods should be eaten on a regular basis to have a good eye sight.
